A Journey of Purpose in Championing College Access: Meet Darren Morgan

Darren Morgan serves as the Executive Director of Arkansas Commitment – a Little Rock-based nonprofit that works to identify, develop, and assist high-achieving students in reaching their goal of enrolling in college. Under his guidance, 120+ students a year are provided with supplemental college counseling, intensive ACT preparation courses, and exposure to colleges through various college visits and fairs.

Prior to joining Arkansas Commitment, Darren served as an Assistant Dean of Admissions at his alma mater Davidson College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Religion. In addition to recruiting and analyzing applications, Darren implemented outreach programs targeting underrepresented students and high schools within the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District. The workshops conducted through this program were designed to provide crucial admissions-related information to underserved public school students. It was this project that led him to his current role.
