Register for tomorrow night's COVID-19 Virtual Provider Town Hall! Thursday, October 8 2020 from 6-7 p.m. MST In this episode, we will focus on when to order an ECG and other cardiac considerations for return to play after COVID-19 infection. Approximately 35 to 45 million youth ages 6 to 18 participate in some form of athletics. As more of these young athletes return to sport amid the lingering pandemic, primary care providers are navigating new guidance about the evaluation and clearance of patients who have recovered from COVID-19. And because COVID-19 infections in pediatric patients are more likely to be asymptomatic or mild compared to adults, pediatric providers will frequently be presented with return-to play questions for patients who had asymptomatic or very mild disease. These early behaviors have providers in the Americas speculating if influenza will take a similarly mild course, while others warn of a “Twindemic” dual impact of COVID-19 and influenza.
