artist Camilla Engström on creative process, habits, and routines, moves, and more ((part 1))

This week I spoke with visual artist Camilla Engström. Our conversation flew by and we ended up talking for nearly 3 hours, so I decided to break this up into two parts. In this first half, you’ll hear about her her upbringing in a small town in Sweden, her parents meeting in China, her move to Shanghai, her unplanned move to NYC to study fashion, and how she ended up eventually becoming a painter. We move up to the present and talk about how moving to LA impacted her personally and professionally, and what her life is like now including her habits, routines, and creative process. She talks about her meditation and journaling practices, art influences, and her thoughts on spirituality, including what happens when we die.
