It's 2015 and we are "celebrating" another Veteran's Day this week. Communities all over the country are parading and honoring the Vets that are family, friends, and neighbors. Politicians around the country will no doubt spend much time telling us the importance of our Veterans and why they should be so honored. But as a society and as a government we do the opposite. Veteran's are homeless, Veteran's have to continually fight for medical and mental health ACCESS and benefits in a timely way or at all. Now that our government actually acknowledges that PTSD exists, they deny access to Cannabis as treatment and the DEA Chief says it is a joke that Cannabis is argued to have medicinal value. Why do they lie? It is one of the great tragedies of our society the way we have treated our Vets. In 2013, the United States Department of Veterans Affairs released a study that covered suicides from 1999 to 2010, which showed that roughly 22 veterans were committing suicide per day, or one every 65 minutes.
