Supreme Court Strikes Down Affirmative Action | Loveloud Music Festival is Getting Bigger & Louder

The Supreme Court struck down affirmative action in college admissions upending decades of legal precedent. President Biden criticized the ruling, saying "this is not a normal court" while most GOP presidential candidates, including former president Donald Trump, called it a "great day for America." Loveloud is a family-friendly music festival created by Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds and his friend, Neon Trees lead singer Tyler Glenn, to celebrate LQBTQ+ youth. The concert, first launched in 2017 in Salt Lake City, is a way to spark conversation and compassion, and prevent suicides in mormon communities where the church opposes gay marriage and sexual relations.

CBS Mornings lead national correspondent David Begnaud explores the importance of compassion with a visit to Davis, California. In that town is a gathering place known as the compassion bench. David Breaux often sat there and dedicated his life to studying and talking about compassion. This spring, Breaux's life ended violently — less than 50 yards from that bench. Begnaud shows how every random act of violence can change the lives not only of the victims and their loved ones, but of an entire community, and how the people of Davis are carrying on Breaux's legacy with compassion.
