As a lifelong resident of Suffolk County, Judy Pascale has experienced the ever changing demographics and culture of Long Island. Her civic, business and governmental experience has prepared her well for her role as Suffolk County Clerk.

Ms. Pascale was appointed to the position of Suffolk County Clerk by New York State Governor George Pataki in March 2006 and holds the designation as being the first woman to have earned this appointment in the history of the Suffolk County Clerk’s Office. She was subsequently elected in 2006 and re-elected in 2010 and 2014.

During Judy’s first few months as County Clerk, her office was awarded the 2006 Knowledge Management Award by Federal Computer Week, the 2006 Computerworld Honors Program by Infoworld and the Best of New York Award by Government Technology. In 2010, the award-winning tradition continued with the prestigious Computerworld Honors Laureate Award, placing in the “Top Five” after competing with hundreds of organizations throughout the United States and across the globe. In addition, the Clerk’s Office was awarded the “2010 Achievement Award” from the National Association of Counties. These awards were bestowed upon the County Clerk’s Office for innovative programs and creativity in bringing government closer to the people.

In addition, Judy has made the protection and safekeeping of government records her number one priority and was successful in securing funding for this purpose. As Suffolk County Clerk, Judy has taken the lead in working with Members of the State Legislature in amending New York State Real Property Law that will allow County Clerks throughout the State to prohibit the use of personal information on public records.

During her tenure as County Clerk, Judy has proven to be a fiscal watchdog. Judy takes great pride in providing the highest level of constituent service while keeping the taxpayers’ costs down. Judy’s first budget included a 0% budget increase along with a cut in management salaries by half a million dollars.

Judy began her governmental career in 1986 as a County Executive Assistant, under then County Executive Peter Fox Cohalan. Judy’s work and experience in public outreach helped her secure the position in the Office of Public Information for the Town of Brookhaven. Ms. Pascale joined the Suffolk County Clerk’s Office in 1990 as a Senior Deputy Clerk, where she oversaw the Civil and Criminal Court Actions Departments. In 1995, then County Clerk Ed Romaine, promoted Judy as the first female Chief Deputy County Clerk. As Chief Deputy, Judy oversaw the administration department of the County Clerk’s Office and was responsible for the creation and implementation of all personnel policies for the 130 employees of the Clerk’s Office.

Judy Pascale has also been active in the business and civic communities, having been elected as the first female President of the Chamber of Commerce of the Mastics & Shirley, Member of the Suffolk County Vietnam Veterans Memorial Commission, Brookhaven Women’s Advisory Board, and member of the Crystal Beach Property Owners Association.Judy currently lives in Moriches and is the proud parent of four adult children and six grandchildren.
