Poem by Josh Lynott: "Don't look for answers"

I looked for the answers till my eyes burned.

Nowhere to be found, my heavy heart yearned.

My eyes are on fire, and my heart melted.

What was the world teaching me, my mind belted.

The more we dare to seek,

The larger the world becomes.

You must not be shy or meek,

Or wait too old, as time is soon undone.

Early answers are a quick win at the casino.

Long answers are buried, challenging everything you know.

Go dancing in the wind, dance with your questions.

You are the answer, you are the learnings.

Burn bright, burn slow

Be curious, you know.

Ask not what you have, but what is?

What's yours is neither mine or his.

Books mentioned:

  • Letters to a young poet - Rainer Maria Rilke
  • Relentless - Tim Grover

Questions:

  • What is it that bothers you most about the world right now? View this in a sense of what can you change on the ground right now?
  • What is something I want to work long towards?
  • What does hard work look like to you?

Journal prompt:

Am I becoming the person the younger me would have looked up to five years ago? What do I need to do to become this person?
