This month I say an official goodbye to Moving Forewords, the memoirist collective to which I’ve belonged for the past four, maybe five years. To me, this collection of powerful female writers from all over the country was my safe place. And I am forever grateful and humbled to have been one among many. Although our website will no longer be available, I was able to salvage this piece of writing I did three-ish years ago for our blog and wanted to share it with you all today. Laura Cathcart Robbins is the host of the popular podcast, The Only One In The Room, and author of the forthcoming Atria/Simon & Schuster memoir, STASH (due out in spring of 2023).
