Andy Grammer - Singer, Songwriter (S-Curve Records)

Not many artists who start out playing on a promenade for pocket change have their lyrics tweeted by Taylor Swift to her 6.6 million followers. That happened for singer-songwriter Andy Grammer in which Taylor’s tweet went, “Ya gotta keep your head up OHHH, but you can let your down EHHH”. Grammer is two weeks away from releasing his self-titled debut album on S-Curve Records. Already his first single, Keep Your Head Up, (the song Taylor tweeted about) is in rotation on radio stations around the country including cracking the American Contemporary Top 40 Chart which includes regular play on Ryan Seacrest's radio show. This makes him legit to mainstream America, a fame he has already garnered among his key fans from his 3rd Street Promenade playing days in Santa Monica, California. When Andy tweeted, that AmoreMagazine.com was doing this podcast interview with him, we were inundated with his fans sending us questions to ask him. (Some you’ll hear in the interview.) Taylor Swift may be on board the Grammer train now, but Alec Baldwin knew Andy's sound was good when he once threw a $100 bill in his guitar case. Alec Baldwin isn't the only funnyman from an NBC show to pay homage to Andy. The Office star, Rainn Wilson, who wrote a book with Andy's college roommate, was cast in the video for Keep Your Head Up. Rainn has become a personal friend of Andy’s even introducing his performance recently on The Rachael Ray Show. The video for his single is unique in that it's one of the first interactive videos in which the viewer selects what happens to Andy as he makes his way past a dumpster, through a hotel, a laundry mat and to the roof of a downtown Manhattan building - all while belting out his hit that has the town singing with him. The video won MTV's O Music Award for most innovative video. Fresh off his tour with the Plain White T's and ready to embark on a summer tour with Natasha Bedingfield - long gone are the promenade days for Andy, but still in tact is the passion for his songs that got him to where he is today. Happy, honest, and loving life just like his lyrics is the best way to describe him – whether it be making a TV appearance, impressing Alec Baldwin at the 3rd Street Promenade, or making Taylor Swift want to tweet about him, Andy just seems to have his head up no matter where he goes.
