Life was built around the cycles of the Nile, and the pharaoh was seen as the divine ruler maintaining order in a world shaped by gods and nature. And when you put it in perspective, Cleopatra lived closer to the iPhone than she did to the construction of the Great Pyramid—a reminder of just how ancient this civilization really was.
