It's Donald Trump’s 77th birthday, and it comes just the day after he became the first president in history to face federal charges. Now we're learning there was a major drama right after he plead not guilty to mishandling classified documents. During a stop at a Miami sandwich stop a reporter yelled out a question Trump's supporters didn't like, so she ended up being dragged out of the restaurant. Steven Fabian has details. And the laws are supposed to apply to everyone, and when a sheriff's deputy spotted a local cop doing 80 miles an hour in a 45 mile an hour zone, he did what he'd do to any such driver - he pulled him over. That's when the fireworks started. Plus, here's a word you may have never heard before: touron. It's a tourist who acts like a moron. There are plenty of examples of them out there, but this guy has been such a fool, that Les Trent says there's now a manhunt to find him. And back in the 80's, more than half of all retail sales were in malls. Today malls around the country are closing, and the owners of the biggest mall in San Francisco now say they’re done. In part because of changing consumer habits, but also because rising crime has left shop keepers and shoppers no longer feeling safe. Donald Trump was escorted by motorcade to a Miami courthouse today where he became the first president in history to face federal charges - all in connection to allegations he mishandled highly sensitive documents. Police said they were ready for anything, and that included massive traffic jams, a bomb scare, and a gathering of trump supporters and detractors that turned out to be much smaller than expected. In addition, at one point Fox News reported former First Lady Melania Trump was at her husband's side... but it was a case of mistaken identity. As Ann Mercogliano reports, it's believed Mrs. Trump was more than a thousand miles away in New York where yesterday she was spotted having her hair done and going to the dentist. Plus, he nearly died trying to save his son and his niece in a rip tide. For weeks it was touch and go with former NFL player Peyton Hillis being put on a ventilator. Now, in his first TV interview since - he says there's no doubt in his mind, it's a miracle he's alive. And here hasn't been an incident in its more than 40-year history, and authorities are still trying to figure out why a tourist boat with 29 people on board capsized in an underground cave near the Erie Canal. It’s an accident that left one man dead. To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. They say write what you know…but prosecutors say this author took that too far by killing her husband and then writing a book on grief. Today her murder trial began with the defendant wiping away tears....while her attorney's professed her innocence. And tomorrow in Miami Federal Court, former President Donald Trump will be arraigned on 37 charges connected with his handling of highly sensitive documents. Based on the crowd situation the last time Trump was in court, law enforcement in South Florida has been told to be on high alert. Plus, the survival story of the children who survived a plane crash, and then managed to stay alive 40 days in the Amazon jungle is captivating the entire world. Ann Mercogliano on how they did it and the survival lessons they can teach all of us. And did a Frito Lay's janitor really come up with the idea for one of America's favorite snacks?     To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. Former President Trump declares he's an innocent man after being indicted on 38 counts of mishandling classified documents. As the bombshell news broke, Melania Trump was spotted in New York while her husband hit the golf course in between shaking up his legal team. Les Trent has the latest. And a dramatic rescue caught on tape. A quick-thinking cop and good Samaritans rush to the aid of a mother and five kids who were t-boned on the highway causing their minivan to flip over. Plus, it's the moment the mother of missing Natalee Holloway has been waiting for - Joran Van Der Sloot, the man she believes killed her daughter, was extradited to the US from Peru to face extortion charges. But the jail he's in on our shores is like Club Med compared to the Peruvian prison he's used to, so there are worries he could escape. And is there really something out there? Two thirds of all Americans believe there are other life forms in the universe... and maybe that's why this has made social media go crazy. A light streak was seen in the sky, followed by people who called 911 saying they saw giant figures in their backyard. So what's going on?! If you go outside today in many parts of the country you may think you're on Mars. Wildfires in Canada are sending fumes south obscuring iconic U.S. skylines with an orange glow. But as striking as the images are, they come with a serious health warning. Steven Fabian has details. And it's the deadliest high school mass shooting in U.S. history. 17 killed in Parkland, Florida. Now five years later the fired sheriff's deputy who was labeled a coward for staying outside, is going on trial. As Les Trent reports, this is a rare case of someone being charged because of what they didn't do. Plus, a major development in the neighbor feud that left a mother of four dead. After a public outcry the 58-year-old woman who pulled the trigger was arrested after a debate over “stand your ground” laws. And an arrest has been made in the shooting at a graduation ceremony in Richmond, Virginia that left two people dead and five others wounded. For the first time in 130 years a royal has taken the stand in court. Prince Harry is among those suing a British newspaper claiming they used unlawful methods like phone hacking to secure stories. However, it's what he said on the stand that's making jaws drop. And a mother of four ended up being shot and killed by a woman in what cops call a deadly neighbor dispute. But what has her grief-stricken family outraged is the fact that the 58-year-old woman who pulled the trigger hasn't been arrested because of Florida’s controversial “Stand your Ground” law. Plus, after the news Robert De Niro and Al Pacino were becoming dads in their late seventies and early 80's respectively many couldn't imagine what that would be like...but this dad can definitely relate. And funny guy Pete Davidson just adopted a new puppy...but the adoption process didn't exactly go smoothly. Judging from a foul mouthed voicemail Davidson left that has now been made public.    To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. Plus, it's the first video of an accused serial rapist who police say terrified young women in the Boston area 15 years ago. He appeared in court today. Also, the fiancé he proposed to just weeks ago was there clutching rosary beads throughout the hearing. He pleaded not guilty.
