S1 Ep17: Knocked out – what you need to know about receiving anaesthesia

16 October marks World Anaesthesia Day. In celebration of the great developments and achievements within the specialty of anaesthesia and the role of anaesthetists, this podcast series provides insight into three key areas –, neuroanaesthesia, obstetric anaesthesia and managing COVID-19 – showcasing what anaesthesia is all about.

In this episode podcast host Dr Sarah Muldoon and Dr Chris Carey discuss how anaesthetists are an essential part of collaborative teamwork during high risk procedures ensuring patients are well informed and cared for before, during and after major operations. Learn more about the different types of anaesthesia you can receive and in which ways anaesthetists monitor patients to guarantee they are properly anaesthetised.
