Live Call-In Episode 1

Pomeroy, Ohio and saw a sign on the door asking that customers refrain from taking photos or videos out of respect for the employees. The sign was not there during Brian’s visit, and Josh worries that the McDonald’s corporation is looking at the location more closely after Brian’s trip. Next, Brian plays a voicemail from Allen who apologizes for bullying customers who ordered pizza as a high schooler and wonders if McDonald’s was bullied into taking pizza off the menu. The next caller, Steven, tells Brian that he has not tried the pizza and is sorry to disappoint Brian but would be willing to sign an affidavit saying he would try McDonald’s pizza if it was brought back to the menu. Brian begins calling McDonald’s locations as part of a $9 giveaway. Another caller remembers trying deep dish pizza from the kid’s menu at a McDonald’s in Wisconsin. Brian refrains from further traumatizing the guest on air but later calls deep dish pizza soup. The next voicemail comes from Robert hypothesizing that McDonald’s might have a food lab with frozen samples of McDonald’s pizza kept for historical value. The following voicemail claims to be a person from the IRS offering to pull some strings to cast Brian in a movie about whatever happened to pizza at McDonald’s. Next, Niji recalls trying pizza in a Costco McDonald’s but did not love the taste. Niji agrees to sign a statement saying she will not disparage McDonald’s pizza in order to preserve the integrity of the IJP. Brian goes on to play a voicemail from a caller in Montreal who regularly got pizza throughout the nineties. Brian continues the contest but is repeatedly hung up on. He finally finds an employee willing to answer his trivia question about the existence of McDonald’s pizza, but the employee answers incorrectly.
