Being out and proud is one of the most freeing and liberating experiences a gay man can experience. But, what if you work in a heteronormative, uber masculine industry like construction? How out can you be? Well today's guest says, "As out as you choose to be!" Tommy Whitehead is a licensed contractor and runs his own construction company - as a gay man, gay dad, and husband - and he's doing just fine in this masculine dominated industry. Tommy Whitehead is a Licensed Contractor, and President and CEO of TomCo Solutions, Inc. — one of only 50 certified LGBTQ Business Enterprises (LGBTBE) in the construction industry nationwide. He’s also a passionate volunteer and fundraiser for many worthy causes, including serving as current President of the Pride Construction Coalition, Board member of The Tampa Club, former President of the Tampa Bay Bears, former Treasurer of the GaYbor District Coalition.

This year he was honored to receive many awards including the Tampa Bay Business Journal OUTstanding Voices Award, 40 under 40 of the Tampa Club, the BNI Tampa Extra Mile Award, and was a finalist for Tampa Business Wealth Magazine Individual Philanthropist award.
