Speculations about the next James Bond are rife, with Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Lucien Laviscount among the favorites for the role. Taylor-Johnson reportedly met with producer Barbara Broccoli and impressed her in a “secret audition” for the role, although he may become “too famous” due to his upcoming roles in the Marvel and Fall Guy films. Meanwhile, Laviscount has caught Broccoli’s eye due to his talent, good looks, and recent popularity from his role in Emily in Paris. However, Laviscount’s past appearance on Big Brother in 2011 may work against him. Broccoli has described the next James Bond as a “reinvention,” and the requirements for the role include being British, male, and in the 30s. Renner in Stable Condition
Actor Jeremy Renner, best known for his role as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has been hospitalized following a "weather-related accident" that resulted in injuries. According to a statement from his spokesperson, Renner is in "critical but stable condition" and is receiving care at the hospital, where his family is also present. Renner has been in the entertainment industry since the mid-1990s and received an Academy Award nomination for his role in the film "The Hurt Locker." In an interview with AP Entertainment, Bruckheimer said that “we’re still working on it” and that “nothing’s definitive yet,” but that the team was “continuing to take little baby steps” towards writing a screenplay. Depp has previously said that “nothing on this earth” would convince him to return to the role. Bruckheimer also discussed plans for a female-led spinoff of the franchise starring Margot Robbie, saying that the script for the film “will come forward at a certain point” but that the team is currently working on another Pirates of the Caribbean film first. There is no confirmed release date for either Pirates of the Caribbean 6 or the spinoff.
