Episode 85: Leading for Change

How does one lead well when working with governors, mayors, advocates, faith leaders, community organizers, all with different and opposing worldviews, to find common ground for youth from marginalize populations? This honest conversation about leading with integrity in a complex, and often controversial, social arena is one you won’t want to miss.

In this episode, Jeff is joined by Mark Jackson, a native of Portland, Oregon. He holds credentials in Sociology, Communications, English and Black Studies. He was a participant in the Portland State University Leadership Fellows Program for Nonprofit Management and has decades of nonprofit leadership experience.

Mark Jackson co-founded REAP, Inc. (Reaching Empowering All People), a local organization that empowers and advocates for our most marginalized student populations. He currently serves as the Vice President/Executive Director for REAP Inc. He is a visionary leader in both the nonprofit and public sector who engages business leaders, educators, students, community leaders and parents. Mark is one of the leading voices for youth development, educational equity and community leadership in Portland, Oregon. His dream - To have a culture of equity in public policy and academia by having ALL students respected as leaders for change.
