Episode 145: When Our Stories Fuel Our Leadership with Scott Hatley (Part 1 of 2)

What beliefs do you hold about people with disabilities? Do you want to see positive change in education, the workplace, and the world for people with different abilities? Jeff Mattson hosts part 1 of a 2 part conversation with Scott Hatley. A native and resident of Portland, Oregon, Scott was born with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. He is Co-Founder and Executive Director of INCIGHT. In this episode, you’ll hear how Scott’s story influenced his call as he wanted more than what he saw others with disabilities experiencing. God seems to use what we see as limitations, disabilities, or struggles as the very vehicle to His call for our lives…if we are open to the adventure. Scott's commitment to positive change is evident in his collaborative creation of INCIGHT’s mission. Scott serves on the Board of Directors for Exceed Enterprises and serves on the Partnership Council for All Hands Raised. He is recognized by several organizations for his service to the Disability Community, including the Muscular Dystrophy Association (Personal Achievement Award and 2004 national finalist), Exceptional Parent Magazine (2006 Distinguished Service Award), Oregon Parent Training and Information Center (2007 Youth Achievement Award) and Exceed Enterprises (2013 Londahl-Risley Award).
