Learn more about Giuseppe Pagano's Hotels discussed in the pod: www.hotelesplanadepaestum.com/?lang=en www.hotelsavoybeach.com/ "I’VE SEEN A BUFFALO THROUGH THE GRAPEVINES AND I’VE DRANK WINE. I’VE SEEN A BUFFALO AND IT HAS SEEN ME." The idea for the San Salvatore Winery was first conceived in the mid-40s in Boscoreale, on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius. It was Giuseppe's father that had first made wine in this area. The San Salvatore winery is named after Giuseppe's father and after many years in the Hotel industry Giuseppe and his brother decided to go back to their roots; buying land in Campania in 2003 and developing the winery that we see today. They have a love for organic and biodynamic agriculture, making sure not to stress their vines, respecting nature; the rhythms and traditions of a special terroir. The vineyards are located in the Cilento National Park, it is an area distributed among Stio, Paestum and Giungano. And it is here, at 700m from the vineyard and in view of the Temples, they also have their modern winery, equipped with a 96kW photovoltaic system that allows them to minimize the release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. The family prides itself on their 97 hectares of land, of which 21.5 are under vine and the rest are divided between orchards, olive groves and woods, including 450 beloved buffalo that are exported all over the world, from Australia to the United States. Their plans for the future are equally as interesting: a series of outlets where their products and the best products of the national park will be prepared by women, Tune-in and find out more!
