It was supposed to be a tough-talking message from Homeland Security Chief, Kristi Noem, from inside El Salvador’s most notorious mega-prison. However, it's the $50,000 Rolex on her wrist that ended up in the headlines. And imagine your wedding is just a few weeks away, and you end up being rushed to the hospital with a broken nose and other injuries. It happened to this bride-to-be who was enjoying her bachelorette weekend festivities until a stranger came up and sucker punched her right in the face. She'll be ok, but as she tells Jim Moret, she's worried she won't heal before her big day. Plus, she was one of the first Latin singers to cross over into the mainstream music scene, then the world was shocked when Selena was shot and killed by the manager of her fan club when she was just 23. This week her murderer was up for parole, but it was denied - which is good news to Selena’s still heartbroken family. And the woman dubbed an evil stepmother accused of locking her stepson in a small storage space for twenty years was back in court today. For the first time we are learning how her stepson is feeling, as Steven Fabian reports, as he recovers from the alleged abuse he's questioning why his stepmother is not behind bars. The stepmother pled not guilty. To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. Inside Edition reports...Two weeks from now America will be celebrating its independence…but since most traditional firework displays will not happen because of the pandemic, lots of people are getting ready for their own celebrations. The mayor of Tulsa has declared a civil emergency and curfew in advance of the president’s upcoming campaign rally.  The social media post made by a police officer has opened a hornet's nest of discussion about the pressure cops are under, the pressure fast food workers feel, and just how tense so many seem to be during the pandemic. June 19th has long been a day with historical significance, but this year it’s getting more attention than ever. Today is called Juneteenth and is the anniversary of the day the last of America’s slaves were freed.
