Episode 127: Terrell Ray

Murfreesboro, Tennessee was the scene of this week's unsolved homicide on August 2, 2019. Around 2:52 a.m. Terrell Ray drove to the Villager Condominiums on Middle Tennesse Boulevard in Murfreesboro to visit his girlfriend. He pulled into the complex after 3 a.m. and parked near her home. MPD detectives believe Ray was confronted by one or more individuals as he approached her doorstep. Some of his items, including a cell phone, were on the ground, suggesting he tried to escape.


At 3:16 a.m., emergency personnel arrived at the scene where they discovered Terrell lying face down with multiple gunshot wounds. Terrell was pronounced dead at the hospital.


With the help of OnStar tracking, Terrell’s stolen Camaro was found abandoned at an apartment complex on 43rd Avenue North in Nashville. Terrell’s mother Trina Anderson continues to seek answers nearly 3 years after her son's death, but no suspects have been identified.


There doesn't seem to be a motive. Terrell had no criminal record, did not use drugs, and had no enemies. His life revolved around work, caring for his daughter, and pursuing a Bachelor's degree.
