We discuss drug use, and lack-thereof among our panel. Dori discuses her and her sibling’s journey away from religion and the larger questions that come as a result. And the podcast wouldn’t be complete if relationships didn’t come up. So, we talk about forgiveness and missed pickup signs. Enjoy the ride. DFP: Why did The Lap of Luxury episode ‘Drugs and Other Love’ have subpar sound quality? Contributing Factor (CF): Lack of Situational Awareness regarding proximity of microphones CF: Rules of Engagement (ROE) not thoroughly briefed to new participants CF: New players unaware and unable to comprehend ROE due to state of Blood Alcohol Content and other drug influence Instructional Fix (IF): Ensure environment provides adequate space for microphone placement and sound deadening IF: ROE must be briefed and proper Rehearsal of Concepts accomplished to ensure all players are ready to execute Lesson Learned: The Lap of Luxury benefits greatly by having guests on the show. That said, it is important, no matter how good the guests are, that all players have a proper shared mental model. This falls on the more experienced podcasters to accomplish a good brief. In addition, those experienced should preplan and prepare the space in order to provide the best possible outcome for those unfamiliar with Standard Operating Procedures to ensure a successful podcast.
