Wilma June Nissen

On October 4th, 1978, in Iowa, a woman was found face down in a deep ditch about twenty feet from the road. No identification was found with her body, and being in an advanced state of decay, police had no way to determine who she was.

Join Mike and Morf as they discuss Wilma June Nissen. Years later, the police were able to identify the woman through fingerprints as Wilma June Nissen. The investigation into her death began from there. Wilma's daughter, Krissy, joined us for this episode to discuss her mother's life and her fight for justice.

In 1980, wife and mother Betty Gore was murdered in Texas. It was an especially brutal murder caused by many blows from an axe. Initially, police believed that it must have been a man who murdered Betty because of the vicious nature of the crime. But, the evidence started to point to a woman. The sensational nature of the case has led to numerous television series over the years. Join Mike and Morf as they discuss the murder of Betty Gore. Suspicion in Betty's death soon fell on her friend Candy Montgomery. It came out that Candy had visited Betty that day and that Candy had an affair with Betty's husband, Allan. The prosecution thought they had a pretty airtight case against Candy Montgomery. Candy admitted to killing Betty but said she did so in self-defense. On September 10th, 1988, Cynthia and David Dowaliby woke up to find their daughter Jaclyn missing from the house. The local police, as well as the FBI, started an investigation. They originally thought that the Dowalibys might receive a ransom demand from a kidnapper. But, suspicion soon turned to David and Cynthia. Join Mike and Morf as they discuss the case of Jaclyn Dowaliby. Sadly, 7-year-old Jaclyn's body was found just days later. The Dowaliby family was in a nightmarish situation, and things continued to spiral downward. Just months after Jaclyn was murdered, David and Cynthia were arrested and charged with her murder. The Lululemon Murder

In March 2011, two women who worked at a Lululemon store were attacked, and one was killed. Police arrived to find 30-year-old Jayna Murray dead, with over 300 injuries, and 29-year-old Brittany Norwood wounded but still alive. Police found size 14 bloody shoe prints around the store, and the money was missing from the safe. Join Mike and Morf as they discuss what has become known as the Lululemon murder because it occurred in a Lululemon store. Brittany Norwood told the police that two men came into the store after hours and attacked her and Jayna. She gave them somewhat of a description, but it was tough because they were wearing all black and had their faces covered. But Brittany soon went from a sympathetic survivor to the prime suspect after the police found evidence and holes in her story. Scott Peterson became one of the most despised criminals ever after being convicted of the murder of his wife and unborn child. Just before Christmas in 2002, 27-year-old Lacie Peterson, who was 33 weeks pregnant with a boy they planned to name Conner, vanished. Less than a month after she vanished, both Lacie's and Conner's bodies were found after they washed ashore. It didn't take long for police to suspect Scott Peterson. Jon Mike and Morf as they discuss Scott Peterson and the murders of Lacie and Conner Peterson. At first, the things that Scott told the police seemed to line up. Even Lacie's family was convinced he was innocent. But that changed when it emerged that Scott had multiple affairs during the marriage, the latest was with a woman named Amber Frey. Amber came forward to police with information that put Scott in a bad light. But, even with his conviction, there are some who do not believe he did it, or at least do not believe that there was enough evidence to convict. On May 9th, 2021, Mother’s Day, the Bailey family woke up to find their 13-year-old daughter Tristyn Bailey missing. It appeared as though she had not slept in her bed the night before. They quickly called the police, who began to search for Tristyn. A jogger happened upon her body near a retention pond in St. Johns, Florida, later that day. Join Mike and Morf as they discuss the murder of Tristyn Bailey. It didn't take long for police to zero in on a suspect. Within three hours of the jogger finding Tristyn's body, they had a 14-year-old boy named Aiden Fucci and his parents in an interrogation room. Aiden and his parents made some interesting statements on video while investigators were out of the room. As the truth unfolded, everyone was shocked by what just exactly happened to Tristyn Bailey. On July 20th, 1971, the body of 24-year-old Rita Curran was found in the bedroom of her Burlington, Vermont, apartment. Her body was discovered by one of her roommates. Rita was a highly regarded teacher at Milton Elementary School, and her murder rocked the community. It caused residents to start locking their doors and to run out and buy extra security measures. Join Mike and Morf as they discuss the murder of Rita Curran. The police worked on the case for many years with no success. In fact, over 50 years passed before the authorities solved the mystery of Rita Curran's murder. It turned out that a cigarette found at the crime scene in 1971 and logged into evidence was the key. It led the authorities to a man named William DeRoos, who they had questioned on multiple occasions.
