The Energy of Empire 4. Puerto Rico - ’Belonging to but not Part of’

‘Do not make peace until we get Porto Rico.’ That’s what Theodore Roosevelt wrote to his partner in imperial crime, Senator Henry Cabot Lodge, as Roosevelt was preparing to personally invade Cuba. ‘Porto Rico is not forgotten and we mean to have it,’ Lodge replied.   Sources War Against All Puerto Ricans, by Nelson A Denis   Fantasy Island, by Ed Morales    America’s Backyard: Puerto Rico    The History of Vieques in 10 Minutes. by Robert Rabin    Rain and Tears by Neutrin05 https://soundcloud.com/neutrin05 Creative Commons — Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported — CC BY-SA 3.0 Free Download / Stream: http://bit.ly/2PKvY28 Music promoted by Audio Library https://youtu.be/RRsQBq9nSXQ   Donations in support of the show can be made at: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=ZL2DQE3EK446C

The Energy of Empire 3. Cuba - A Splendid Little War

And so on April 24th 1898 the United States and Spain went to war over Cuba. There was no need for the U.S. to enact conscription as it would do in later wars, Spurred on by a belief that Spain had murdered Americans on the USS Maine, hundreds of thousands, maybe up to a million young men volunteered.    There were substantial American commercial interests in Cuba, mostly agricultural and in railways, totaling around one and a half billion dollars in today's money. Cuban rebels were talking about that most dreaded of things—land redistribution.   Notes: Overthrow and The True Flag by Stephen Kinzer   Wall Street, Banks, and American Foreign Policy by Murray Rothbard   Crucible of Empire: The Spanish American War   Remember the Maine, by Adam Graham   Donations in support of the show can be made at: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=ZL2DQE3EK446C

A Good Death? - Euthanasia in the Care Industry, with Jacqui Deevoy

Jacqui Deevoy is a freelance journalist who has spent many years writing for major British newspapers. Around two years ago she began investigating how a banished euthanasia program had returned to British hospitals—coinciding with the onset of COVID-19. This program includes greatly increased use of the respiratory depressant drug midazolam. Jacqui joins us today to talk about her research and how it casts a different light on the periodic spikes in deaths experienced since April of 2020. Watch A Good Death? - A Story of Euthanasia in the Care Industry  The TV Chef I mentioned is Rustie Lee. See her talking about breaking her mother out of a hospital on the BBC:  This is the presentation I mentioned by Dr. Sam Bailey on what caused excess mortality Read Jacqui's article about Anna Redfern and Cinema & Co

The Energy of Empire 2. Hawaii - The Bayonet Constitution

Founder of the Annexation Club, Lorrin Thurston, organised a ‘Committee of Safety’ to overthrow Hawaiian Queen Liliuokalani. Crucial to this effort was the presence of the USS Boston and 162 American Marines, who came ashore ostensibly to protect US citizens, but in reality ensuring the coup would be a success. Reading David Icke 1. The Truth Vibrations

Reading David Icke 1. The Truth Vibrations

David Icke divides opinion. Fellow conspiracist Alex Jones famously called him ‘a turd in the punch bowl’, whilst Skeptiko’s Alex Tsakiris has him as one of the most original thinkers of our age. Is he a political iconoclast liberating minds, or a cult leader imprisoning them? Is he a spiritual visionary awakening people to their true nature, or a New Age guru peddling woo? Should he have a global platform on which to proclaim his ideas, or be censored for the public good? And does he really believe the queen is a shape shifting reptile? The Energy of Empire 1. The Black Iron Prison

Why do imperial structures arise? What forces play into them? Are they internally harmonious, or do they contain different factions fighting against each other? And do we still live in the age of empires now, or have we evolved beyond that primitive way of operating?
