Former NHL'er Brian Boyle on the Eastern Conference playoff race, Calgary Flames eliminated, Claude Giroux and Joe Pavelski record 1000th career NHL points

On the Tuesday edition of The Athletic Hockey Show USA, Craig and Sean discuss the tight race in the East for the wild card slots, with the Panthers and Penguins poised to get in and the NY Islanders falling apart and out of the East race. The guys stick tap Claude Giroux and Joe Pavelski's 1000th NHL points and put the lid on a very disappointing season for the Calgary Flames who were eliminated from playoff contention on Monday night.

Former NHL'er Brian Boyle joins Craig and Sean to look back on his career in hockey and about his new opportunity with the NHL Network as a playoff analyst. Boyle comments on the playoff race including the Pittsburgh Penguins, Florida Panthers and New York Islanders vying for the final two slots in the East. Plus Brian shares his comments on the current playoff format, the salary cap and the historic season from the Boston Bruins and the comeback year for Norris Trophy candidate Erik Karlsson.
