Keeping building capacity safe with Adil and Marwan of Omnia

Keeping building capacity safe with Adil and Marwan of Omnia

Keeping building capacity under control has never been more critical. But how do you know what a safe capacity for your building is in a Covid world?

What about if you manage a large real estate portfolio and need to consider how to rationalise that given new capacity constraints and flexible working habits?

Enter Adil Ayi and Marwan el Marabet of Omnia. As their tag line says: "Get back to work with science".

With their scientific backgrounds, they've turned their minds to solving these problems and have created a valuable modelling tool, which allows insight-based decision making.

From a floor plan, with a few clarifying questions, they can show you – based on typical human behaviour in an office environment – how users move around, how the risk of close contact changes over time, and even how often you should think about cleaning your coffee machine!

But also discussed were the other, longer-term possibilities their modelling could aid: from slips-and-falls to cleaning frequencies and much more.

Finally, the last section of the chat was all around how to position safety and risk with a board to influence them to act – a topic close to Christian's heart and one that Adil and Marwan are navigating, now, too.
