Zonta International, a global human rights organization dedicated to building a better world for women and girls, has been a powerful advocate for gender equality for over 105 years. Salla and Megan share insights into the organization’s mission and vision, focusing on their four key areas of impact: ending gender-based violence, promoting climate justice, empowering women in leadership roles, and advocating for equal access to education. The conversation dives into Zonta’s worldwide influence, particularly through their signature project to end child marriage, and how individuals can make a difference by joining or supporting a local Zonta club. Salla Tuominen is a third generation Zontian and has been a member since 2005. A seasoned Zonta leader, she has served on the international board as director, vice president and president-elect. She has extensive experience within her district board having served in almost all roles.

As an attorney at law specializing in both domestic and international corporate transactions, Salla keeps a “can do” attitude while working under enormous time pressure with complex legal and strategical issues alongside international teams.

Salla's goal for her leadership is to integrate sustainability into all of Zonta's business and for the organization's long-term strategic planning, ensuring that Zonta's focus areas contribute to a more sustainable future. She is committed to fostering the Zonta Spirit, a culture of belonging, community, inspiration and passion for Zonta's mission throughout the organizational structure, which she aims to simplify for greater efficiency.

Megan Radavich is Executive Director of Zonta International and Zonta Foundation for Women. As the chief staff executive, she oversees the work of the International Headquarters Team and collaborates with volunteers and staff to develop organizational membership and fundraising strategies to support the Zonta International and Zonta Foundation for Women Boards in reaching their strategic goals. Megan has been with Zonta International for 15 years and has extensive experience in association management, governance, communications, fundraising, advocacy and program administration. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science with minors in Spanish and Women’s Studies from Loyola University Chicago; and, in 2022, she received her Certified Association Executive credential from the American Society of Association Executives.
