#138 - THE CLASH With Author IAIN KEY

This week Rob and Alan chat with author Iain Key about his new book All the Young Punks: A People's History of the Clash, an oral history of one of the most seminal bands in modern music. Iain is well-known to Louder Than War regulars as the presenter of his own Indie Brunch show on Louder Than War Radio, and in his first foray as a published author, he indulges his fascination with his favourite Punk icons to great effect. In our discussion, we talk about what made the Clash unique, why they connected with such a broad audience, their rise in popularity in America, and a whole lot more.

The book is published by Spenwood Books. You can get more information and purchase your copy on All the Young Punks: A People's History of the Clash by visiting the publisher's website.

Anthony, Rob and Alan take chisel and hammer in hand to add five (no, six!) faces to their own personal Mt. Rushmore of ROCK. Who do they each select as their representative guitarist, bassist, keyboardist, vocalist, drummer and producer? Which Deep Purple line-up does Anthony prefer? Who is the big curveball that Rob throws in the vocalist category? And what does Alan really think of Topographic Oceans? All the answers await you!  We'd love to hear your picks for your Mt Rushmore faces! Taylor Swift and the Re-Release of ’Red’

Taylor Swift and the Re-Release of ’Red’

We weren't able to record a new episode this week because of power outages (thanks a lot, snow), so we're presenting a show from the archives. This show comes from November 2021 (originally on our YouTube Channel) on the weekend of the release of "Red (Taylor's Version)'. We review the new version 'Red', talk about the reasons that she has launched the massive project to re-record her first six studio albums, and discuss the other things around the release -- the new 15-minute short film, her SNL performance, late-night appearances, and more.
