In a dramatic comeback, the Dallas Stars defeated the Edmonton Oilers 6-3 in Game 1 of the Western Conference Final on Wednesday night. The Stars rallied from a two-goal deficit, scoring five unanswered goals in the third period.The Oilers had built a 3-1 lead heading into the final frame, with goals from Leon Draisaitl, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (power play), and Evan Bouchard. Tyler Seguin scored for Dallas in the first period to tie the game at 1-1, but Edmonton regained control in the second.However, the third period belonged entirely to the Stars. Miro Heiskanen, Mikael Granlund, and Matt Duchene all scored power-play goals in a span of just 5:26 to give Dallas a 4-3 lead. Tyler Seguin added his second goal of the night, and Esa Lindell sealed the victory with an empty-netter.The Stars' power play was particularly effective in the third period, converting on three consecutive opportunities. The Florida Panthers opened the Eastern Conference Final with a dominant 5-2 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes in Raleigh on Tuesday night. This marked Carolina's first home loss in six playoff games.The Panthers established control early, scoring two first-period goals. Carter Verhaeghe opened the scoring on a power play, followed by Aaron Ekblad, who extended the lead to 2-0. While Sebastian Aho pulled one back for the Hurricanes late in the first, deflecting a shot past Sergei Bobrovsky, the Panthers continued to dictate play.A.J. Greer restored Florida's two-goal lead in the second period, and Sam Bennett further solidified their advantage with a power-play goal in the third.
