A Strange Harvest

A Strange Harvest

On this episode of Expanded Perspectives, the guys kick things off with an update on Kyle’s thriving garden and the new UV filter he’s installed to protect it. After that, they dive into a series of strange sightings and conduct a fascinating interview from an undisclosed location with a fellow hunter and longtime friend. He shares a chilling account involving his neighbor’s eerie encounter with dead cattle, strange black helicopters, and reported UFO's in and around the area.

Cattle mutilations are a chilling and puzzling phenomenon that has been reported across the globe, predominantly in the United States, since at least the 1960s. These incidents typically involve the unexplained and precise removal of organs, blood, or flesh from livestock—often under circumstances that defy logical explanation.

Organs such as eyes, tongues, ears, and reproductive organs are removed with cuts so clean they appear to have been made with surgical instruments or lasers. Skeptics argue this could be the work of skilled humans, but no definitive evidence points to human perpetrators. Victims are often entirely drained of blood, a fact that mystifies veterinarians and investigators. Even the immediate area around the body frequently lacks blood or signs of struggle. Typical predators leave behind jagged wounds and drag marks. In mutilation cases, predators rarely touch the carcasses, adding to the mystery.

For ranchers, these incidents are not just unsettling but financially devastating. Beyond the economic loss, the unexplained nature of the phenomenon fuels fear and mistrust in affected communities. Investigators, including law enforcement and paranormal researchers, continue to grapple with these cases, which often remain unsolved. Cattle mutilations remain one of the most enduring enigmas of modern times, blending elements of mystery, science fiction, and real-world consequences. Whether the work of natural forces, secretive human groups, or entities beyond our understanding, these cases challenge our perception of what’s possible—and what’s lurking just out of sight.

Early Airship Scares

Early Airship Scares

On this episode of Expanded Perspectives the guys start the show off talking about their week, allergies and other things that have been happening to them in general before they get into the news. Then, a woman in West Virginia saw two wolves much larger than they should have been. She believes that they were in fact Werewolves! Then a listener of the show writes in with her very own time slip experience one day while out walking her dog. After the break, Kyle brings up the Airscare of the late 19th and early 20th century. Kenneth Arnold is generally given credit for kicking off the UFO object craze in 1947 by sighting what he called “Flying Saucers” in the skies over the Pacific Northwest. However, 50 years before, Sacramento grabbed the attention of the entire nation when a giant object was spotted one night flying over the capital city. The mystery of the secret airship flying over Sacramento on a storm swept November night in the late 19th century was never solved, and the story spread throughout the nation with eventual sightings in the Midwest, Texas, Massachusetts, New York, Great Britain, Australia and even New Zealand. What were these mysterious aircraft seen over the cities and fields of North America and beyond? Was it something cooked up by the media to spark paper sales? Was the United States experimenting with a torpedo-shaped balloon? Was it a secret social club experimenting with some incredible feats in early aviation or was it something extra-terrestrial? Sasquatch Tracks

Sasquatch Tracks

On this episode of Expanded Perspectives the guys talk to friends and colleagues Micah Hanks, Dakota Waddell and Jeff smith about their new podcast "Sasquatch Tracks".  Sasquatch Tracks examines the question of whether large undiscovered species may still exist, with special emphasis on the Sasquatch in North America, and similar claims of apelike “relict hominoids” and other animals purported to exist around the world. Their approach is critically minded, yet open to the possibility that the world of zoology may have kept a few secrets–possibly even big ones–well into the modern era. As recently as 1976, discoveries like the megamouth shark by a U.S navy research vessel near Oahu, Hawaii, have shown that some large species have indeed managed to elude us. Similar discoveries like the okapi (Okapia johnstoni) in 1901, as well as the mountain gorilla (Gorilla gorilla beringei) the following year in 1902 have turned up new specimens that surprised scientists and expanded our knowledge of the natural world. The study of cryptozoology entails the scientific search for animals, both great and small, that remain undiscovered by science. Some discoveries may come out of the blue, with a previously unrecognized specimen turning up in the wild, or even in existing museum collections of fossils retrieved decades beforehand. Other times, the cultural traditions and folklore of indigenous groups may provide scientists with clues about new, undiscovered species. Unfortunately, cryptozoology is often deemed “pseudoscience” on account of its association with fantastic claims; these are often presented in a sensational way that offers little incentive for serious biologists, anthropologists, zoologists, or other professionals who otherwise might be interested in at least considering such topics. The Cooper Vortex

The Cooper Vortex

This week on Expanded Perspectives we have on fellow Podcaster and friend Darren Schaefer on to talk about DB Cooper and his amazing podcast "The Cooper Vortex"! It's the only unsolved hijacking case in the history of commercial aviation. On the afternoon of November 24, 1971—Thanksgiving Eve—a man aboard a flight from Portland to Seattle threatened to detonate a bomb if he didn't receive a hefty ransom. Once he got the money, the hijacker released all passengers and ordered the crew to fly to Mexico. En route, with cash in hand, the man parachuted from the aircraft. This man was known as D.B. Cooper. After a 45-year FBI investigation, his identity, whereabouts and motive remain unknown. No one even knows whether he survived the jump. The FBI followed thousands of leads to find Cooper, considering more than 800 suspects in the five years following the incident. As of today no one knows who D.B. Cooper really was! Darren Schaefer is seeking the answers to this incredible story each and every episode of his amazing podcast "The Cooper Vortex".  All of this and more on this installment of Expanded Perspectives! Then they get into the news with a sighting of a new species of shrew as well as many other creatures found for the first time in the last couple of years. Then, a listener writes in with some strange sightings they have had over the years.  After the break Kyle brings up some very strange cases of past lives! For nearly 15 years, Jim Tucker has been investigating claims made by children, usually between the ages of 2 and 6 years old, who say they’ve had past lives. The children are sometimes able to provide enough detail about those lives that their stories can be traced back to an actual person—rarely famous and often entirely unknown to the family—who died years before. Somewhere In The Skies II

Somewhere In The Skies II

This week on Expanded Perspectives author and friend of the show Ryan Sprague joins us to talk about the recent announcements in the UFO world, what are these other world vehicles, who pilots them and why is the government coming forward now? Also he talks about his latest work "Somewhere In The Skies, 2nd edition: A Human Approach to the UFO Phenomenon". In this updated and expanded second edition, Ryan Sprague revisits many, and introduces new stories of those who have seen extraordinary things in our skies and how these incredible events have changed them. While reports of UFOs and close encounters are littered with dates, times, and descriptions, they rarely focus on the people who've had the experience. Could both the positive and negative implications, whether subtle or revelatory, further our knowledge of what these phenomena represent? Through detailed testimony from credible witnesses and insight from those in the psychological, academic, and scientific fields, Somewhere in the Skies: A Human Approach to the UFO Phenomenon weaves together a story of stories, attempting to get to the heart of these mysteries one experience at a time. Strange Encounters

Strange Encounters

On this episode of Expanded Perspectives the guys start the show off talking about Body Armor sports drinks  and then they get into some strange sightings. First off, some more details regarding the sighting of four small hairy hominids that were observed by fossil hunters in west Texas. Then, Cam brings up some more small creatures like the Venezuelan Hairy Dwarves! Which are a variety of hairy humanoid that is shorter than the average human. Unlike the more traditional types of hairy humanoid, such as Bigfoot, hairy dwarfs are technologically adept. In fact, they are often associated with UFOs. In the early days of the UFO craze, witnesses often reported that the aliens were hairy dwarfs instead of the classic "grays" that seem to be most popular today. In time, hairy dwarf reports became much less common. Hairy dwarfs are hardly ever reported today. Then, Kyle tells a story sent in by a listener who has also seen a black smoke serpent manifesting in there bedroom at night. Why does this seem to be happening during sleep paralysis? Who or what is creating them. Also, a woman tells about two BEKs showing up on her front porch at 2:30am in Alabama in the middle of the summer while be decked out in winter jackets! Darkness Bound

Darkness Bound

On this episode of Expanded Perspectives the guys start the show off talking about Kyle's recent trip the coast of Texas with his family. How he had to leave early because of an incoming Hurricane or Tropical Storm. Then, they get into the news where a person in Montrose, Colorado witnessed a small circular ship with its landed gear down and a hatch with stairs folded down to the ground. Next to the ship where green lizard-looking beings. Their eyes were bright yellow and there were some tanks on their backs along with another bag. They didn't have fingers but webbed hands with what looked like bow and arrow type weapons they were holding. Their bodies were thin and scaly, even their legs. Their feet had V-shaped toes and looked incredibly tall and strong. Then, a listener from Hungary wrote into the show about a smoke serpent that was observed in their bedroom one evening while frozen in bed. Apparently they believed they were stricken with sleep paralysis, but actually remembering this allowed them fall back asleep unscathed. After the break, Cam brings up some strange and interesting stories from the Hospital. Nobody deals with death more than nurses and doctors. And if you think they might have a ghost story or two to tell, you'd be wrong. They have a lot more than just one or two ghost stories. They have dozens. Some of the creepiest, freakiest, weirdest, and wildest stories have been told by nurses and doctors who have had exceptional encounters with the paranormal.
