Freeman & Bible

On December 29th, 1999, a teenager named Lauria Bible was spending the night with her friend, Ashley Freeman. They were celebrating Ashley's 16th birthday, and it was the first time that Lauria had been allowed over to Ashley's home in a year-and-a-half.

The reasoning that Lauria hadn't been allowed over was because Ashley's father, Danny Freeman, had a bit of a reputation. He had long been rumored to have a temper, as well as an abusive relationship with his children: Ashley, as well as her older brother, Shane. Shane had been shot and killed by police months beforehand, sending patriarch Danny further into a downward spiral.

At around 6:00 AM, on the morning of December 30th, a passing motorist noticed flames emerging from the Freeman's country home. When police arrived, they found a suspicious scene... but the events that would unfold later on cemented this story as one of the most enduring mysteries of the 21st century.
