Jail...break? Fail

When we think about jail, one thing feels pretty obvious, I would think: it's a place people generally try to stay out of. Whether it's for a short stint or a long sentence, crossing that barbed wire usually means someone made some serious mistakes. But every now and then, a story comes along that flips the script entirely. Maybe not every now and then, actually. But this story might leave you blinking at the headline, and wondering…wait, what? Today, a story that involves meth, wire cutters, a broken window, and a man so determined... he wasn’t trying to escape from jail. He was trying to break in. And trust me: this wasn’t a drunken mistake or a wrong turn. It was a full-on plan.

Jailbreak (Cocktail)

• 1 part amaretto

• 1 part whiskey

• 3 parts Guinness

• 3 parts coke

• 2 parts Kahlua

1. Pour Guinness and coke into a wine glass.

2. Mix Kahlua, whiskey, and amaretto separately, with some crushed ice.

3. Pour over the Guinness and coke.

4. Serve unstirred.

Jailbreak (Mocktail)

• 1 drop almond extract

• 1 part non-alcoholic whiskey

• 3 parts Guinness 0

• 3 parts coke

• 2 parts coffee

1. Pour Guinness 0 and coke into a wine glass.

2. Mix coffee, whiskey, and almond extract separately, with some crushed ice.

3. Pour over the Guinness 0 and coke.

4. Serve unstirred.
