109.Daily Pain from Endometriosis: Ren’s Fight to Be Heard

In this episode, Ren joins us from Chicago to share her journey with chronic pain that began in early childhood. From daily stomach issues and struggles with eating to feeling misunderstood by friends, Ren opens up about what it’s like to live with an invisible illness. Her pain was dismissed until a ruptured ovarian cyst landed her in the ER and even then, answers didn’t come easily. Ren also experienced fainting episodes that added to the fear and confusion of not knowing what was happening in her body. Her story is raw, relatable, and a powerful reminder that being young doesn’t mean being healthy.

47. How Hidden Endometriosis changed her life forever after a partial hysterectomy.

In 2014, Genika went to her doctor and discovered that she had two fibroids she needed to have surgery to prevent the growth further. She decided to have a partial hysterectomy. She healed up well, felt great, and was back at work soon after. Starting in 2015 she began to have chronic pain and it was getting worse as the months went on, she thought it may be hemorrhoids. She consulted with her doctors who suggested it may be chronic constipation. She was referred to a GI doctor, she was having pain in her buttocks as well as vaginal bleeding. She knew something was not right.... Listen in to the rest of her journey here and grab her book: https://tinyurl.com/3pz4dtyy Want to keep the conversation going? 45. Pushed through pain, how she thought what she was going through was "normal."

Hanna talks about her journey from high school to the present day as a Mother. She experienced lapses in her period and frequent UTI's, and it would take her months to recover from these infections.  She went on BC as she started college, she had heavy periods and pain but thought it was normal.  She did not tolerate this well and tried several BC. She stayed on this for years. She still had chronic UTIs while being on the pill.  She reflects back on her family history and it seemed that most of the people in her family did have endo and/ or adeno.  Listen in to the rest of her journey here.  Want to keep the conversation going?      Join our Facebook Group: tiny.cc/7mpbnz Want to watch it on YouTube? http://tiny.cc/6cx6tz Thank you for listening and supporting this podcast.
