The Slender Man (also spelled Slenderman) is a fictional supernatural character that originated as a creepypasta Internet meme created by Something Awful forum user Eric Knudsen (also known as "Victor Surge") in 2009. He is depicted as a thin, unnaturally tall humanoid with a featureless head and face, wearing a black suit.

Stories of the Slender Man commonly feature him stalking, abducting or traumatizing people, particularly children. The Slender Man is not confined to a single narrative but appears in many disparate works of fiction, typically composed online.

On May 31, 2014, two 12-year-old girls in Waukesha, Wisconsin held down and stabbed a 12-year-old classmate 19 times. When questioned later by authorities, they reportedly claimed that they wished to commit a murder as a first step to becoming proxies for the Slender Man, having read about it online. They also stated that they were afraid that Slender Man would kill their families if they did not commit the murder. After the perpetrators left the scene, the victim crawled out of the woods to a roadway. A passing cyclist alerted authorities, and the victim survived the attack. Both attackers have been diagnosed with mental illnesses but have also been charged as adults and are each facing up to 65 years in prison. One of the girls reportedly said Slender Man watches her, can read minds, and could teleport.

Experts testified in court that she also said she conversed with Lord Voldemort and one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Milwaukee teen Anissa Weier was sentenced to 25 years in a mental health facility in 2017, for the 2014 stabbing of a classmate. Weier's accomplice in the crime was a friend called Morgan Geyser, who was also a 12-year-old like Weier when they planned and stabbed classmate Payton Leutner in the nearby woods, later telling authorities that the attempted murder was supposed to keep the legend-horror character Slender Man from killing their families.

Where is Morgan Geyser now?

At 19, Geyser is still at the unnamed mental hospital where she was sentenced 40 years after she pled guilty to the attempted first-degree murder of Leutner. Geyser had reportedly pled guilty to the crime to avoid prison, but she was ultimately found not guilty on grounds of insanity. Geyser was later diagnosed with schizophrenia, and following her 2017 conviction, her attorneys have argued that she should have been tried in juvenile court as she was 12 at the time of the stabbing.

On September 11, 2020, her defense team appealed to the Supreme Court, to toss out Geryser's conviction in adult court. This came after Wisconsin’s 2nd District Court of Appeals had denied Geyser's appeal to have her conviction overruled, twice by then. Geyser's attorney Matthew Pinix had claimed at the time that his client should have been charged with attempted second-degree intentional homicide, which would have sent the case to juvenile court.

Who is Morgan Geyser?

On May 31, 2014, three pre-teens — Geyser, Weier, and Leutner, woke up from a sleepover to celebrate Geyser's 12th birthday. The girls then went to a local Waukesha park, where Geyser and Weier stabbed Leutner 19 times and left her for dead. The 12-year-old victim however managed to crawl her way out of the woods and was spotted by the side of the road by a passing bicyclist. Leutner survived, but it's been reported that two of the stab words were millimeters from her arteries. Shortly after she was found, cops found Geyser and Weier walking along the roads, claiming they were on their way to live with Slender Man.

Geyser and Weier were arrested immediately and charged as adults the next day. The girls had confessed to the crime too, claiming they were terrified of Slender Man killing their families if they didn't murder Leutner. The story has become sensational in the years, because of the brutal nature of the crime from such young children. Having become the topic of countless documentary flicks and TV shorts, the Slender Man Stabbing continues to be one of the most notorious incidents.

During the sentencing hearing, three years after the heinous attack on Leutner, professional opinions on Geyser's mental health and treatment needed were still conflicting. While her defense team tried to move her to an adolescent health facility, Judge Michael Bohren denied it, saying: "What we can't forget is this was an attempted murder."

Scary Alien Abduction Stories & UFO Experiences

Scary Alien Abduction Stories & UFO Experiences

Scary Alien Abduction Stories & UFO Experiences - Ask RedditAlien abduction (also called abduction phenomenon, alien abduction syndrome, or UFO abduction) refers to the phenomenon of people reporting what they believe to be the real experience of being kidnapped by extraterrestrial beings and subjected to physical and psychological experimentation.[1] People claiming to have been abducted are usually called "abductees"[2] or "experiencers". Most scientists and mental health professionals explain these experiences by factors such as suggestibility (e.g. false memory syndrome), sleep paralysis, deception, and psychopathology.[3] Skeptic Robert Sheaffer sees similarity between some of the aliens described by abductees and those depicted in science fiction films, in particular Invaders From Mars (1953).[4]Typical claims involve forced medical examinations that emphasize the subject's reproductive systems.[5] Abductees sometimes claim to have been warned against environmental abuses and the dangers of nuclear weapons,[6] or to have engaged in interspecies breeding.[7] The contents of the abduction narrative often seem to vary with the home culture of the alleged abductee.[4] Unidentified flying objects (UFOs), alien abduction, and mind control plots can also be part of radical political apocalyptic and millenarian narratives.[8]Reports of the abduction phenomenon have been made all around the world, but are most common in English-speaking countries, especially the United States.[4] The first alleged alien abduction claim to be widely publicized was the Betty and Barney Hill abduction in 1961.[9] UFO abduction claims have declined since their initial surge in the mid-1970s and alien abduction narratives have found less popularity in mainstream media. Skeptic Michael Shermer proposed that the ubiquity of camera phones increases the burden of evidence for such claims, and may be a cause for their decline.[10]Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/darkest-mysteries-online-the-strange-and-unusual-podcast-2025--5684156/support.Darkest Mysteries Online

My Husband is a Pedophile, I called the police and turned him in. (A crazy Reddit Ask Me Anything)

My Husband is a Pedophile, I called the police and turned him in. (A crazy Reddit Ask Me Anything)Pedophilia is an ongoing sexual attraction to pre-pubertal children. It is a paraphilia, a condition in which a person's sexual arousal and gratification depends on objects, activities, or even situations that are considered atypical. Pedophilia is defined as recurrent and intense sexually arousing fantasies, sexual urges, or behaviors involving sexual activity with a prepubescent child or children—generally age 13 years or younger—over a period of at least six months. Pedophiles are more often men and can be attracted to either or both sexes.Pedophilic disorder can be diagnosed in people who are willing to disclose this paraphilia, as well as in people who deny any sexual attraction to children but demonstrate objective evidence of pedophilia. For the condition to be diagnosed, an individual must either act on their sexual urges or experience significant distress or interpersonal difficulty as a result of their urges or fantasies. Without these two criteria, a person may have pedophilic sexual desires but not pedophilic disorder. The prevalence of pedophilic disorder is unknown, as the social stigma around it does not invite people to self-identify. Estimates of its prevalence range from one to five percent of the male population. There are believed to be only a small fraction of a percent of women, if any at all, who experience pedophilia.Pedophilic sexual offenders are usually family, friends, or relatives of their victims. The types of pedophilic activities vary, and may include just looking at a child or undressing and touching a child. However, acts often involve oral sex or touching the genitals of the child or the offender.Studies suggest that children who feel uncared for or lonely may be at higher risk for sexual abuseBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/darkest-mysteries-online-the-strange-and-unusual-podcast-2025--5684156/support.Darkest Mysteries Online

Shocking Deathbed Confessions From History A MUST LISTEN!

Shocking Deathbed Confessions From History A MUST LISTEN!

Shocking Deathbed Confessions From History A MUST LISTEN!When facing the end, it's time to come clean - at least that's what happened for numerous individuals who committed some pretty heinous and noteworthy acts. Admissions of murder, theft, and the forging of famous photos are just some of the shocking deathbed confessions that have come down to us through history. It's hard to tell if all of these confessions are true, but several of them provided answers to seemingly unanswerable questions, offered resolutions to previously cold cases, or gave families much-needed closure. These last words definitely left an impression. An Outlaw Biker Admitted To Slaying A Teenager And Feeding Her Body To AlligatorsWhen 17-year old Amy Billig disappeared on March 4, 1974, the entire community of Coconut Grove, FL, was devastated. Billig reportedly made a trip home after getting out of school, changed clothes, and was seen getting into a van to visit her father's place of business. She never arrived.Investigators looked for Billig, but to no avail, and even used her journal as a guide to try to figure out what had happened to the girl. Authorities found her camera by the highway, but there were no real leads as to her whereabouts.Billig's mother, Susan, never stopped looking for her daughter and traveled around the world, following potential leads. She wrote a book about her investigation, detailing all of the tips called in and the motorcycle outlaw subculture she was drawn into as she searched for her daughter. One of the strongest leads Susan possessed was that Billig had been taken by members of the Pagans motorcycle club to party in the Everglades. In 1998, a former "enforcer" for the Pagans, Paul Branch, confessed to the deed, admitting the club had picked Billig up, slipped her something, then taken her to their clubhouse, and repeatedly assaulted her.Billig's heart stopped as a result of the substances and abuse, and the gang dropped her body in the swamps of the Everglades to get rid of the evidence, feeding her to the alligators to cover their tracks. According to authorities, Branch and other members of the Pagans had been questioned in Billig's disappearance, but repeatedly denied any knowledge of the event. Only at the end did Branch admit to his wife that members of the club were responsible. It's unclear if Susan Billig ever believed Branch's confession or if an actual confession ever took place. Authorities were hesitant to believe Branch's widow, thinking she was trying to capitalize on the passings of Billig and her husband. Susan Billig continued to look for her daughter, indicating she wasn't satisfied with the widow's information.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/darkest-mysteries-online-the-strange-and-unusual-podcast-2025--5684156/support.Darkest Mysteries Online
