-Today’s topic-

昨日、家族を連れて海に行きました。

まだ梅雨の時期ですが、運良く晴れていました。

Yesterday, I took my family to the beach.

It is still the rainy season, but luckily it was sunny.

海はすごく穏やかで、波が無く、水温も暖かくなっていました。

他にも何組かグループが来ていました。

The sea was very calm, no waves, and the water temperature was warm.

There were a few other groups there.

僕たち家族は、フラミンゴの形のボートを持っていきました。

子ども用なので、40kgの制限があって、僕は乗ることが出来ませんでした。

娘はボートをとても楽しんでいるようでした。

Our family brought a boat shaped like a flamingo.

Since it was for children, there was a 40kg limit, so I couldn't ride it.

My daughter seemed to enjoy the boat very much.

日本では通常、「海開き」と呼ばれる日があって、その日から海に入ることが出来ます。

でもここ２年は、コロナの影響で正式な「海開き」は無く、自分の責任で判断します。

In Japan, there is usually a day called "Umi-biraki" (opening of the sea), from which you can enter the sea.

But for the past two years, due to the corona, there has been no official "opening of the sea" and we are responsible for making our own decisions.

今まで海は7月の後半か8月にしか入ったことがなかったので、とても新鮮な体験でした。

今日も晴れているので、海に行ってみようかなと思います。

I've only ever been in the ocean in late July or August, so it was a very new experience for me.

It's sunny again today, so I think I'll go to the beach.
