Sussex Bay: The Exceptional Local Coastal Community Movement to Restore Nature’s Biodiversity | Paul Brewer

Sussex Bay on the South coast of England is an exceptional example of local restoration project with an exceptional vision: to restore 100 miles of coastline where the seascape and rivers flourish. A healthy blue ecosystem in which nature, people and local economy can thrive.

Like so many other parts of the world, the current reality of Sussex Bay is far from this idyllic vision as the region is dealing with many issues relating to land, coast and sea degradation, biodiversity loss, and other effects related to climate change.

Yet, the project has already garnered funding and a massive momentum from the local community. How did they do it? Paul Brewer, the project leader and Director for Sustainability & Resources at Adur & Worthing Councils shares with us his best kept secrets, tips and advice for anyone interested in local nature recovery.
