Mechanical Engineering isn’t about Bernoulli, it's about water parks (ft. Daniel McCaulley, CEO of Ultimus Engineering)

Daniel McCaulley, CEO and founder of Ultimus Engineering, will tell us all about his journey from sports nerd to a mechanical engineer. Together we talk about the importance of soft-skills (even if you don’t plan on owning a business) and what engineering really teaches us. Spoiler alert: it’s not how to solve the Bernoulli equations.

Join us to hear about:

  • What engineering is actually about
  • The soft-skill that you’re probably missing
  • How to find a mentor (and why you need one)
  • Arnold Schwarzenegger
  • How to build a building
  • Why design-build is a better approach to construction then your usual group project
  • Not liking your first job (and why that is okay)

Check out the books we mentioned:

The 5 levels of leadership by John C. Maxwell

Escape from Nexus Labs by Carolina Sofia Carreira
