Mechanical Engineering isn’t about Bernoulli, it's about water parks (ft. Daniel McCaulley, Ultimus Engineering))

Today we have a guest on the show!

Daniel McCaulley, from Ultimus Engineering, will tell us all about his journey from sports nerd to a mechanical engineer. Together we talk about the importance of soft-skills (even if you don’t plan on owning a business) and what engineering really teaches us. Spoiler alert: it’s not how to solve the Bernoulli equations.

Join us to hear about:

  • What engineering is actually about
  • The soft-skill that you’re probably missing
  • How to find a mentor (and why you need one)
  • Arnold Schwarzenegger
  • How to build a building
  • Why design-build is a better approach to construction then your usual group project
  • Not liking your first job (and why that is okay)

Check out the books we mentioned:

The 5 levels of leadership by John C. Maxwell

Escape from Nexus Labs by Carolina Sofia Carreira
