UV Funk 048: Soca, Funk & Disco from the West Indies mixed by Cover

When the sun comes up over Dresden, one man is already on his bike riding to one to three flea markets to check out if there are some precious little vinyl diamonds. This man could be @cover-1, one of the most diligent diggers and DJs in the city. Over the years he made a name for himself for playing soulful Disco und House music that you should know but won’t even heard of before. When he is on holidays he tends to go to countries in which those unsung musical heroes were or are located. For instance, the islands of the West Indies to whose varied Soca, Disco and Funk scene he established a longtime love affair. At least, you can hear that in every note in his mix for UV Funk. Thanks, Cover! UV Funk is a radio show which is broadcasted every third Friday from 9:30 pm to 11:00 pm on Dresden based community radio station coloRadio. Radio listeners in Dresden can tune in to the program on 98,3 or 99,4 MHz. Any other listeners can recall it here. The show is hosted by @philipp-demankowski. It’s all about stories, interviews and tracks out of the world of Cosmic Electronic Music. The show was aired on 19th of May 2017.
