A special episode, shot after the General Elections in Sweden on September 11th where Sweden’s future is balanced on a knife-edge as the country awaits a final tally of the votes of the election, in which a loose bloc of rightwing parties led by the far-right Sweden Democrats – now the second largest party – holds the slimmest of majorities. Gustaf explains the current state of the Swedish government and comments on the election. What changes may occur in Sweden and, most importantly, what will happen to the Swedish online gambling industry?

ABOUT GUSTAF HOFFSTEDT:

Gustaf Hoffstedt is the Secretary General of BOS, the Swedish Trade Association for Online Gambling, since 2015. Among the association’s members are all major private operators and suppliers that operate in Sweden. Prior to joining BOS, Gustaf served as a Member of the Swedish Parliament for the Moderate party, and as vice mayor and chairman of the Social board in his constituency Gotland before that.

Gustaf has fought for the abolition of the Swedish gambling monopoly and the implementation of a licensing system for more than a decade. He is pleased with the Swedish reregulation but at the same time concerned about political attempts to drastically change the newly implemented regulation.
