(Archive) 69. Sharon Brown of Bonafide Provisions on Gut Health and Immunity

Sharon Brown’s middle son, Blake, was a perfectly healthy baby until at six months old, he developed a sinus infection and was put on antibiotics. Thanks to old school Western medicine, he pretty much lived on antibiotics for the next 5-6 years, battling chronic sinus infections, ear infections and respiratory infections. When his teacher informed Sharon that Blake likely had Attention Deficit Disorder and would benefit from being on Ritalin, Sharon, a Clinical Nutritionist herself, wondered if maybe he was just unable to focus because he felt so miserable all the time. She decided to take matters into her own hands to stop the downward spiral of conventional medicine. She started to research alternative remedies for inflammation and infection and thus cracked opened the world of gut health. Once she learned about the powerful gut-healing benefits of bone broth, it was a game changer for Blake. In 2011 Sharon and her husband (a chef! lucky lady...) launched Bonafide Provisions with the mission of making traditionally-prepared bone broth available to all those who need it.

Now Bonafide is offering more than broth- since airing this episode they have rolled out certified organic broth-based soups and Keto broth with MCT oil to boot!

SPECIAL OFFER FOR HTW LISTENERS- Now through the end of November, Bonafide is offering 20% off when they order online at bonafideprovisions.com and use the code HTW
