25: Interrupt ADHD Rushing: Break Fight or Flight and Get More Done

25: Interrupt ADHD Rushing: Break Fight or Flight and Get More Done

If you're always rushing, skipping lunch, and still feel like there's never enough time, this episode explains why ADHD rushing keeps you stuck and what to do about it. Rushing tells your nervous system there's danger nearby, which feeds ADHD dysregulation and makes the day feel shorter than it is. This is for the ADHDer who wants to slow down without falling behind.

I talk about why fight-or-flight makes everything feel urgent, how survival mode and a scarcity mindset bend your sense of time, and the three kinds of rushing: physical, mental, and ADHD impatience. I also share small ways to slow down, like turtle time while you walk to the car, and why a little anxiety shows up at first. When you rush less, your ADHD executive functioning improves, and you stop swinging between overwhelm and burnout.
