In August of 2015, a woman was home alone when she received a very disturbing text message from her daughter who lived in Houston, Texas. It read that she was being held hostage by a former boyfriend. Time truly was of the essence, but the response of the Sheriff’s Department would lead to a plethora of questions and criticisms.
