In December of 2015, a graduation ceremony was being held at the Colégio Nossa Senhora Maria Auxiliadora in Petrolina.7-year-old Beatriz Mota attended the event along with her parents, Sandro and Lúcia, who were attending the graduation for two reasons: not only was Sandro a well-liked teacher at the private Catholic school, which was located right in the city center of Petrolina, but their oldest daughter (Beatriz's older sister) was graduating.As the ceremony began to wind down later that evening, both parents would notice that they hadn't seen their youngest daughter in several minutes. In January and March of 1857, President-elect James Buchanan stayed at the National Hotel in Washington D.C.Located along the National Mall, the National - formerly known as "Gadsby's Hotel" - was the most regal lodging choice in the nation's capital at the time. Many banquets and balls were thrown in the hotel's ballroom, and it made a logical choice for Buchanan to stay there in the days leading up to his inauguration. However, what people didn't know is that during his prior stay at the National, Buchanan and several of his staff-members had fallen ill to a mysterious illness, which would return with a vengeance during his second visit a month later. In 2012, a Florida prisoner died after being locked in a shower for two hours. Darren Rainey, a 50-year-old inmate at the Dade Correctional Institution, was serving a two-year sentence for cocaine possession. Having been diagnosed with schizophrenia, Darren was serving his sentence in Dade's Transitional Care Unit (the official name given for the prison's psych ward). On June 23rd, guards noticed that Darren was suffering from a psychotic break. They escorted him to the showers, where his body was found two hours later. Nearly a decade later, Darren's fate continues to be mired in mystery and confusion...
