Throughout 2019, bizarre classified ads started to appear in the Virginia-based Rappahannock Record, which were centered around a cold case four decades in the making.Olivia Thorndike had been a 24-year-old young woman living in Henrico County, whose life came to a sudden and tragic end in November of 1981. While detectives and prosecutors had their suspicions about a couple of men in Olivia's orbit, they were never able to build a convincing case against either. Nearly forty years later, Olivia's case remains unsolved, but some people continue to search for justice (those that knew Olivia, and those that never had the chance). Tragically, that means that there's not a lot of information out there about Olivia, but I've been able to learn a lot about the two violent men that revolved around her in the weeks and months before her death... For years, sleuths have tried to figure out the secrets behind a bizarre home movie. The video - which was eventually titled "Grave Robbing for Morons" and released as a part of a longer compilation - shows a young man speaking to his friend(s) behind the camera. He holds a human skull throughout and regales with his grave-robbing tips and tricks. Unlike the young man's advice, however, the skull appears to be legitimate. Many question the veracity of the young man's claims, and doubt his advice (which borders on cartoonish at times). However, no one has been able to learn the truth about the video itself, nor the many claims and promises that are made throughout... On March 3rd, 1989, two women were found to have been murdered 50 miles away from one another. 24-year-old Peggy Gill & 34-year-old Jeanne Gilbert were each living separate lives in Merrillville and Rensselaer, Indiana (respectively), and neither seemed to have an inkling of the other's existence. On the evening of December 30th, 2000, a family home in Tokyo's Setagaya district would become a house of horrors.Mikio and Yasuko Miyazawa had moved to the home more than 10 years prior, back in 1990, and decided to start their family there. In the years since, they had introduced a daughter (Niina) and a son (Rei) to the world, and comfortably lived next door to some of Yasuko's family members. But it was on the morning of New Years Eve 2000 that Yasuko's mother would attempt to reach the family. First my phone, and then at the couple's front door.
