Baker YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/dDffIE_Rq9k On September 22, 2025, a Hearing for the Wrongful Death Civil Case brought by The estate of John O'Keefe, Paul O'Keefe (individually and as representative of the estate), John O'Keefe II (father), Margaret O'Keefe (mother), and Margaret O'Keefe (as grandparent and guardian of Kaye) are suing Karen Reed, CF McCarthy's, and Waterfall. During the hearing, Karen Read attorneys announced that she is suing Brian Albert, Nicole Albert, Matthew McCabe, Jennifer McCabe, and Brian Higgins. Her attorneys also intend to bring claims against the Massachusetts State Police, Lieutenant Brian Tully, Sergeant Yuri Bukhenik, Michael Proctor, and the town of Canton Police Department for alleged civil rights violations, conspiracy, and negligent training/supervision. The court anticipates discovery closing in December 2026, with a trial realistically expected in 2027, possibly 2028, especially if additional parties are added. The court strongly urged parties to explore resolutions outside of trial, emphasizing the arduous and expensive nature of civil litigation. The next in-person hearing is scheduled for November 21, 2025.
