The Chris Voss Show Podcast – The Epic of God by Louis McCall

The Epic of God by Louis McCall https://www.amazon.com/Epic-God-Louis-McCall/dp/B0DVJ5G6W2 Louismccallinternational.com Jesus used parables that were fictional to make practical and spiritual points, provoke thought, and enlighten. The Epic of God is a speculative fictional account of the epic story of our heroic God, lover, and savior from eternity past to eternity future. Though fictional, this story is based on Biblical history, hints, and prophecy taken from scripture, brought to life and woven together by the narrative of a watcher angel.About the author Louis McCall was born in Chicago, Illinois and attended Northwestern University where he received a Ph.D. Later, he also attended the National War College of the National Defense University. Louis was an Assistant Professor at the Ohio State University prior to a 36-year career in the U.S. Department of State, first as a Foreign Service officer and then as a foreign affairs Civil Service employee where he served as Consul General in Florence, Italy, Chargé d’Affaires in Brunei, U.S. Representative to the Republic of San Marino, and Assistant Inspector General. He lived in or worked in, at least temporarily, 60 countries on six continents. Whether in academia or as a diplomat, Louis found opportunities to live his faith, including part-time ministry of the good news in word and in song, including co-laboring with missionaries, national church leaders, and the underground church. When ministering early in his diplomatic career from the pulpit of a great church in Calcutta, India, Louis said to those in attendance that he had determined not to be ashamed of the gospel of Christ. That has been a commitment he has endeavored to keep over the years. In his final two years at the Department of State he organized and led the National Day of Prayer observances in the Department. Now, in his new career as an author, he has the pleasure of greater freedom in sharing what God has placed in his heart. Louis is active simultaneously in two churches in Washington, D.C. One is a multi-site non-denominational church, where he is an elder, and the other a Catholic church where he is a regular cantor, though not a Catholic himself. He has managed this with the blessing and full knowledge of pastors and priests. This has been an outgrowth of his early association with a mixed protestant-Catholic charismatic house-based worship group, his association with the late Mother Teresa of Calcutta, his Catholic charismatic wife, and guest ministry in churches and bible schools of various denominations while living in or working in other countries.

The Chris Voss Show Podcast – Reclamation: Sally Hemings, Thomas Jefferson, and a Descendant’s Search for Her Family’s Lasting Legacy by Gayle Jessup White

Reclamation: Sally Hemings, Thomas Jefferson, and a Descendant's Search for Her Family's Lasting Legacy by Gayle Jessup White A Black descendant of Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemings’ family explores America’s racial reckoning through the prism of her ancestors—both the enslaver and the enslaved. Gayle Jessup White had long heard the stories passed down from her father’s family, that they were direct descendants of Thomas Jefferson—lore she firmly believed, though others did not. For four decades the acclaimed journalist and genealogy enthusiast researched her connection to Thomas Jefferson, to confirm its truth once and for all. After she was named a Jefferson Studies Fellow, Jessup White discovered her family lore was correct. Poring through photos and documents and pursuing DNA evidence, she learned that not only was she a descendant of Jefferson on his father’s side; she was also the great-great-great-granddaughter of Peter Hemings, Sally Hemings’s brother. In Reclamation she chronicles her remarkable journey to definitively understand her heritage and reclaim it, and offers a compelling portrait of what it means to be a black woman in America, to pursue the American dream, to reconcile the legacy of racism, and to ensure the nation lives up to the ideals advocated by her legendary ancestor.

The Chris Voss Show Podcast – Andrew Morton, CEO of Bloom Health Partners

The Chris Voss Show Podcast – Andrew Morton, CEO of Bloom Health Partners

Bloomhealthpartners.com About Bloom: Bloom Health Partners, the national occupational health and health-technology company that’s had a huge hand in helping Fortune 500 companies, schools, Hollywood productions, and sporting events, safely reopen. To date, Bloom has built custom covid testing programs for the likes of PepsiCo, Six Flags (all 22 parks in North America), American Airlines, Amazon Studios, Netflix, Apple Studios, Viacom, Live Nation, and many others. With a new wave of pandemic uncertainty brought about by the Omicron variant, discussions around vaccine and testing mandates, an abundance of new home Covid testing options, I wanted to offer up interviews with Bloom’s CEO, Andrew Morton. He can help shed light on what the future of work, school, and entertainment might look like, based on Bloom’s proven track record. He can also discuss the importance of implementing ongoing testing programs across industries, as new variants continue to surface. Morton was formerly CEO of Maitri Health Technologies—a global healthcare supply platform out of Canada—and oversaw the acquisition of Bloom Health by Maitri in July 2021. The $20 million deal, which brought together Maitri’s innovative cloud strategy for safe workplaces and Bloom Health’s occupational health system, has proven successful in helping organizations of all types return to work intelligently and maintain long-term operations. Bloom’s founder and CEO Andrew Morton launched the company at the onset of the pandemic when covid testing was scarce and inconvenient, and the outlook for the economy was incredibly bleak. The company now has the resources to scale their development of pop-up modular testing laboratories, which gives them the control and flexibility necessary to carry out workable covid plans for clients across a range of industries. Additionally, in November, they announced a first-of-its-kind partnership with Montgomery Public Schools, the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH), the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE), and the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Public Health, to offer free and voluntary COVID-19 testing for students, faculty and staff.
