Gemma Oaten is a well-known actress here in the UK, rising to fame on Emmerdale. (Try explaining the appeal of Emmerdale to an American!)

Behind her rise though was an almost unbelievable tale of triumph over adversity. She has had it rough. Gemma was only 10 when she first became ill after negative comments at school affected her self esteem. And from there it was a downhill spiral into an eating disorder.

Today on Zestology, Gemma's story of how she nearly lost it all and before getting back to full health and fulfilling her dreams.
