EEC 132: Difference Between a Brilliant Jerk and a Demanding Leader

The Brilliant Jerk often responds with anger which is a form of the fight strategy when faced with a threat. Employees are aggressed and don't get enough support to resolve issues, and they are left feeling disempowered, depressed, and confused about what to do.

The demanding leader has high expectations of the desired outcome but when employees have failed their task, the demanding leader suspends judgement, thinks before reacting, and, therefore, is better able to listen to issues and find a constructive solution for the employee.
