Bill Murray is at his best, and a power-packed cast delivers laughs from start to finish. The visuals are sublime; the jokes are clever, and the humor is fresh -- all without sacrificing some serious heart. It even made Gene Lyons raise a hearty glass of nog and cheer. Judging Kevin Costner's "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" requires one simple question: Not "is it a good movie?" but "Is it worse than 'Willow?" And, thank Alan Rickman, Robin hood is just a bit better. Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Spacey and Gwyneth Paltrow round out a powerhouse cast that elevates the grotesque to art. This movie is dark, edgy, poetic, symbolic, and twisted. "A Nightmare on Elm Street" introduced us to a new slasher villain, a new horror universe, Johnny Depp and blood-fountain waterbeds. But 2/3 of our panel was not impressed with how it holds up in 2017. Wild imagination clashed with goofy execution. Classic lines were fumbled by idiot actors.
