Samankaltainen tekotapa oli kuitenkin saanut poliisin vakuuttumaan, että murhilla oli sama tekijä. Kymmeniä vuosia myöhemmin DNA tarjosi toiseen murhaan vastauksia ja tapauksen tutkijat uskoivat, että juttu on selvitetty.
