In the spring of 1946, the border town of Texarkana was terrorized by a mysterious masked killer known as the Phantom Killer or Phantom Slayer. They’re credited with killing at least 5 and wounding 3, but they’ve never been caught. The mysterious nature of the crimes inspired the movie “The Town That Dreaded Sundown,” but what’s true and what was made up for entertainment value?
